Carole King Appears at Two Political Fundraising Events in Idaho

BOISE, ID - Carole King appeared at two political fundraising events in Idaho for Democratic Congressional candidate Jim Hansen. The events took place in 2006 on October 19th at the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at Idaho State University in Pocatello and on October 20th at the Egyptian Theater in downtown Boise.

Hansen, who is the son of former three-term Idaho Republican Congressman Orval Hansen, ran a grass-roots campaign and limited individual contributions to $100. "Thousands of people donating $100 each will raise enough money to run a Congressional campaign without going to the special interests and big-money lobbyists," says Hansen. Carole King commented "Contrast that to [incumbent Rep.] Mike Simpson, who gets most of his contributions from corporate interests and more significantly, 82 percent of his contributions come from out of state."
