Carole King Performs at Inaugural "Songwriters Salon" to Benefit Hearing-Impaired Children and Their Families

LOS ANGELES, CA - Carole King was among a baker's dozen of legendary songwriters who performed some of their greatest hits at the first "Songwriters Salon" on Sunday, October 26, 2003. The 'Tripod' event presented the legendary songwriters performing their greatest hits in an intimate and unplugged setting, benefitting hearing-impaired children and their families. The all-star line-up also included Barry Mann & Cynthia Weill, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Stephen Bishop, Tom Kelly & Billy Steinberg, Richard Marx, Amanda McBroom, David Pomeranz, Bruce Roberts and Richard M. Sherman. 'Tripod' was founded in 1982 by parents, educators and community members as a model school and family support organization.

'Tripod' now offers a Family Network, Family Sign Classes, Latino Family Sign Classes and Hooked on Books programs which foster communication in the family and success in the classroom and shares "best practices" with parents and educators around the world.
