Carole King's "Tapestry" is #7 on the NARM/Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 'Definitive 200'

NEW YORK, NY - The National Association of Record Merchandisers (NARM) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have unveiled a list of the 200 albums that every music lover should own. Carole King's legendary album Tapestry landed on the list at Number Seven, just ahead of Bob Dylan's Highway '61 Revisited and the Beach Boys Pet Sounds. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles was voted the Number One album.

The list, released March 6, 2007, was chosen by a committee of national, local and regional record retailers, who are also featuring the 200 titles in their stores. "In an era when record stores and album sales are somewhat embattled, NARM thought it was the perfect time to release this list, and have retailers promote these great, classic albums," said NARM President Jim Donio.

Carole King's Tapestry is the highest-ranking album among the Definitive 200 by a woman. To purchase Carole's album, The Living Room Tour, which features live versions of eight of the songs from Tapestry, please visit our Store.
