Carole King Lifts Her Voice in Songs for Life - Multi-Artist CD to Help Fight AIDS in Southern Africa

NEW YORK, NY - Carole King and some of the world's most celebrated recording artists have donated tracks to Songs For Life, a CD to help raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa. The project was launched last year at an event held at the U.N. which was attended by over 400 people from the worlds of music, film, television, AIDS support, the arts and politics. In addition to the songs of John Lennon, Mary J. Blige, Paul Simon, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, and, among others, an all-star group of African artists, King's "You Will Find Me There" will help promote the CD's theme of unity, hope and brotherhood. All proceeds from Songs for Life will benefit 'The Royal Initiative To Combat AIDS (RICA)', a U.S. not-for-profit organization aimed at combating the spread of the virus in Southern Africa through education, research and treatment.

Songs for Life was produced under the guidance of Phil Ramone.
