Carole King Presenter and Acknowledged at 46th Grammy Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA - Carole King was acknowledged at the 46th Grammy Awards telecast which was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8, 2004.  Carole and her longtime songwriting partner Gerry Goffin ad received NARAS's Trustees Award on Saturday night for their contributions to the music industry.

Along with Kurt Elling and Babyface, a/k/a Kenneth Edmonds, King presented the Song of the Year Grammy to Richard Marx and Luther Vandross for the title track from Luther's latest album, "Dance With My Father." Luther's friend and business manager, Carmen Romano, accepted for Luther.

Song Of The Year nominees included songwriters Linda Perry for "Beautiful" (performed by Christina Aguilera), Richard Marx and Luther Vandross for "Dance With My Father," Avril Lavigne and The Matrix (Lauren Christy, Graham Edwards and Scott Spock) for "I'm With You," Jorge Calderón and Warren Zevon for "Keep Me In Your Heart," and Jeff Bass, Marshall Mathers (aka Eminem) and Luis Resto for "Lose Yourself."
